Cebu’s Ciudad: Where heritage catches up with the present
What can go wrong when traffic solutions are prepared and carefully studied? What is wrong with providing 3,000 jobs to our fellow Cebuanos? What is wrong with connecting ourselves with the rich heritage our Cebuano past has to offer? What is wrong with attracting more tourists to our beloved Cebu? What if? Why not? — These are the underlying questions being thrown by the supporters of the Ciudad Project against some elitist opposition.
For me I am FOR this development since it gives the youth a chance to know their roots and heritage while chillin in a Mall, it’s just that it’s no ordinary mall that is. It’s sad that political barriers make the realization of this project. By this time, the project would have reached its completion (5 years stalled!).

Last december 2, 2011 the Ciudad Project has finally been granted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) the authority to conduct a public hearing to decide whether an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) be awarded to the developer.
